The Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA) supports the formation of neighborhood associations, provides advocacy for neighborhood issues and concerns, and aspires to make neighborhoods in Monroe County safe, welcoming and desirable places in which to live.


Preparing the Past for the Future

The Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA) with the support of the City of Bloomington Department of Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND) will present a talk by Mike Jackson, FAIA. On June 4th at 6:30pm to 8:00pm in the city council chambers (401 N Morton). Refreshments will be served in the atrium starting at 5:30pm.

Mike Jackson, FAIA is an architect and urban designer with more than 30 years of experience in the field of historic preservation. He is a visiting professor of architecture at teh University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mr. Jackson holds degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Columbia University in New York. He is a founding member of the Association for Preservation Technology Committee on Sustainable Heritage and has been active in the development of green building satndards and preservation policies.
