In the city, neighborhood associations register with the City of Bloomington through the Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND) Department. Only registered neighborhoods are eligible for grants that HAND makes available to neighborhoods. (Contact Vickie Provine). Registration also helps elected and appointed officials find contacts for your neighborhood. City officials often contact HAND for a list of neighborhood association leaders for information on upcoming votes, opportunities and general city decision making. If your neighborhood isn't registered your local council person may not know how to contact you! |
