Business Meeting

  1. The minutes from the April 16, 2008 meeting were approved as corrected.
  2. David Walter reported treasury balances as follows: Checking: $672.83 and Savings: $8,099.97. David reported that Green Acres had requested a check be made out to Hall Signs in the amount of $346.35 for sign toppers. He also reported that the CONA Bulk Mail permit still had a balance of $178.35 and because we had not used this permit for several years it was recommended that we apply for a refund.
  3. Jack Baker gave a summary of recent approvals for new projects in the city. There is a 54 bedroom mixed use building with 4000 square feet of commercial space planned for 340-344 S. Walnut, a 32 unit mixed use building for 701 N. College, and a 108 unit motel for 2960 S. Walnut.
  4. David Walter gave a presentation on how to find information on the Monroe County Geographic Information System (GIS) web site. The recent property tax assessment information is now available on this web site and provides information on parcel boundaries, road infrastructure and tax information about individual properties. David indicated that the link to this site can easily be obtained from the maps on the University Architect's Office web site: http://www.indiana.edu/~uao or at http://gis.co.monroe.in.us.
  5. Kathy Berry reported that the rental house in Arden Place is now abandoned and is filled with trash. The neighborhood has contacted HAND, but because it is no longer used as a rental HAND is saying that they cannot ticket the property owner for cleanup. The sewer to the house has not been repaired and basically it cannot be lived in. Kathy asked for suggestions on who to contact about this problem.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM.
