  1. The minutes from the October 21, 2009 meeting were approved.
  2. David Walter reported treasury balances as follows: Checking: $52.54 and Savings: $7,943.12. David also gave a summary of funds being held by CONA for neighborhood associations as follows: Waterman's - $251.87, McDoel Gardens - $26.10, Bryan Park - $290.83 and Green Acres - $296.67. Jane Spearman submitted $55.00 in donations for deposit in the Green Acres account, which brings their total to $351.67.
  3. Keith Johnson and Ann Kreilkamp participated in the "Peak Oil Taskforce" for the City of Bloomington. The premise is that the oil that is easily obtained has run out and future extraction will be more costly. Therefore, the more that you can do now to reduce your dependence on oil, the better off everyone will be. The taskforce's report is available at:: http://bloomington.in.gov/peakoil. The specific charge of the Task Force is to acquire and study current and credible data; seek community feedback; coordinate efforts with other governmental agencies; work to educate the community; and, to develop the report to the City Council. Keith suggested taking an on-line quiz at www.myfootprint.org to find out how many "earths" it would take to support your lifestyle if everyone in the world lived as you do.
  4. Vickie Provine announced a new neighborhood leadership class sponsored by HAND. It will consist of quarterly meetings with city staff to learn more about city land use issues. A brochure is attached and applicants can contact Vickie or sign up at the City of Bloomington web site.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM.

The December 16, 2009 CONA meeting was canceled by the Executive Committee.
